Two emerging leaders of the Richmond Football Club, Rana Hussain and Tahlia Biggs have been selected to participate in the Joan Kirner Young and Emerging Women Leaders Program.
The program which is delivered by Leadership Victoria and funded by the State Government, supports emerging Victorian leaders on their leadership journey through a 12-month tailored program.
Only 27 women were selected for the program from more than 160 applications.
Both women are key cogs in Richmond’s Community Department – Hussain is the Club’s Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator, and focuses on initiatives for the Club to engage both diverse and minority groups through various programs, partnerships and events.
Biggs began her journey with Richmond in 2011 as a participant in the Korin Gamadji Institute’s (KGI) REAL Program, an Indigenous leadership and cultural strengthening program.
Following her progression and graduation of the program, Biggs furthered her development into a program facilitator and is now the KGI’s Program Coordinator.
Richmond CEO, Brendon Gale congratulated the pair for their selection into the program.
“Being selected for the Joan Kirner Young and Emerging Women Leaders Program is a testament to Rana and Tahlia’s hard work, dedication, leadership and willingness to be positive role models for the communities they represent,” Gale said.
“We’re very proud of them, and the important contribution they make at our football club.”
The 12-month leadership program which launched last week includes a leadership development training program, structured networking events to connect with women leaders, individual one-on-one support sessions, and development of an individual tailored leadership development plan.
