In the lead-up to the blockbuster 2019 ‘Dreamtime at the ‘G’ clash between Richmond and Essendon, we feature this image of the Tigers’ greatest-ever Indigenous player Maurice Rioli in full flight during a 1980s match against Collingwood.
Magpie Bruce Abernethy’s failed lunge at the brilliant, elusive Rioli results in him hitting the MCG turf, while former Richmond assistant coach Mark ‘Choco’ Williams watches on in the background.
