Star Richmond midfielder Dion Prestia’s first-class form in season 2019 continued against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium last Saturday.
Prestia had a major impact in the Tigers’ 92-point win, finishing the match with a team-high 28 disposals, game-high nine tackles, eight clearances, seven score involvements, four inside-50s, four marks and 352 metres gained.

That excellent effort earned Prestia nine votes from respective coaches Damien Hardwick (Richmond) and Stuart Dew (Gold Coast) in the Round 16 voting for the 2019 AFL Coaches’ Association’s Player of the Year award.
Another Tiger midfield ace, Kane Lambert, and energetic forward, Jason Castagna, received seven votes apiece.
Lambert had 24 disposals, 11 score involvements, four inside-50s, four tackles, 383 metres gained, took six marks and kicked three goals.
Castagna kicked an AFL career-high five goals, took an AFL career-high 10 marks and had a game-high 335 metres gained.

Inspirational Richmond captain Trent Cotchin picked up five votes for his sterling showing – 27 disposals, 10 score involvements, six clearances, five inside-50s, four marks, two goals and 422 metres gained.
Rounding out a clean sweep for the Tigers in the Round 16 AFLCA Player of the Year voting was young gun Shai Bolton, who produced the best performance of his fledgling AFL career – 26 disposals, nine marks, nine score involvements, six inside-50s, five clearances, four tackles, two goals and 492 metres gained.
