Richmond will enter the 2019 season with four current-day players holding the record for most games played in their respective guernsey numbers at the Club, and another two who may well be record-holders by year’s end.
Premiership quartet Jack Riewoldt, Alex Rance, Dustin Martin and Shaun Grigg have played more games in their numbers than anyone else in Tigerland history.

Riewoldt has 249 games in the No. 8 guernsey, which is 36 more than four-time Richmond premiership player and Team of the Century member Dick Clay (213).
Rance’s 199 games in the No. 18 places him 47 ahead of triple Tiger premiership player and Team of the Century member Mervyn Keane (152).
Martin, with 204 games in the No. 4, surpassed Matthew Rogers (197) during the 2018 season.
Grigg, on 171 games, took over as the Tigers’ No. 6 record-holder late last season from Mark Chaffey (166).
Bachar Houli, 159 games in the No. 14 guernsey, is only 17 behind 1943 premiership player Max Oppy (176), while Shane Edwards, 231 games, has moved within 20 of Richmond’s No. 10 record-holder, three-time premiership player and Team of the Century member Kevin Sheedy.
