Dustin Martin’s strong performance in his first game as Richmond’s captain, against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval last Thursday night was acknowledged in the Round 13 voting for the prestigious AFL Coaches’ Association’s Player of the Year award.
The Tigers superstar midfielder received three votes from rival coaches Damien Hardwick (Richmond) and Don Pyke (Adelaide) after finishing the match with a team-high 32 disposals, five inside-50s, five rebound-50s, three clearances, nine marks, four tackles, two goals and 641 metres gained.

Richmond young gun Sydney Stack was the other Tiger to poll coaches’ votes in Round 13.
Stack picked up one vote following another extremely impressive display – 22 disposals, five inside-50s, four tackles and six marks – in his debut season of AFL football.
