The Tiger Army has banded together to raise a record-breaking $95,317 for the Alannah & Madeline Foundation as part of the Club’s annual dedicated match, which this year took place against Carlton at the MCG.
The Alannah & Madeline Foundation, the Club’s preferred charity partner, is an organisation working to keep children safe from violence, bullying and online risks.

The Club this year focused on Lighting the Darkness around cyberbullying and how it affects children and their parents.
Up to one in five Australian children have reported being bullied online, while many Australian parents are more worried about their kids using social media than they are about drugs, alcohol or smoking.
By raising $95,317, the Club has helped to support 9,531 young people with an eSmart Digital Licence, a comprehensive online cyber safety resource teaching school aged children digital skills to help them to become safe online.

Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said the record-breaking effort was a credit to the entire Richmond Football Club, its members and supporters.
“Due to the generosity of the Tiger Army we have been able to once again have a profound impact keeping children safe,” he said.
“We look forward to continuing to support the Alannah & Madeline Foundation and the wonderful work that they are doing.”
Alannah & Madeline Foundation CEO, Lesley Podesta said that cyberbullying was something that the community was anxious to change.
“This year’s messaging was powerful and sincere, hearing our players urge people to be kinder to each other online has a huge effect,” she said.
“Richmond’s leadership and financial support has really helped the Alannah & Madeline Foundation reach children and families in the most vulnerable communities around Australia. Education is the best investment in keeping our kids safe.
“Together we work side-by-side to support our community from harm. It’s a partnership that changes lives.
“Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard in the weeks leading up the dedicated match day. Your time and energy will help us protect children from harm.”
