Nick Vlastuin was rewarded for his defensive master class in Richmond’s Anzac Eve victory over Melbourne with maximum votes in the AFL Coaches’ Association’s Player of the Year Award Round 6 voting.
The star Tiger backman received 10 votes from rival coaches Damien Hardwick (Richmond) and Simon Goodwin (Melbourne) after finishing the match with an AFL career-high 28 disposals, a game-high 14 intercepts, 13 marks, five rebound-50s and three inside-50s.

Dashing Richmond defender Bachar Houli picked up seven votes following an excellent exhibition that netted him a game-high 32 disposals, a team-high eight rebound-50s, seven marks and five tackles.
Gun Tiger midfielder Dion Prestia was given six votes for his quality display – 30 disposals, including 18 contested possessions, a game-high 10 clearances, four inside-50s, six score involvements, along with six tackles.
Another top-class Richmond on-baller in Kane Lambert collected five votes after racking up 29 disposals, including 15 contested possessions, eight inside-50s, seven clearances and nine score involvements, plus seven tackles.
Rounding out the Round 6 Richmond vote-getters in the prestigious coaches’ award was dependable defender Dylan Grimes (two votes).
