Twin targets Aaron Edwards and Liam McBean booted 12 goals between them to help steer Coburg to its second-straight VFL win yesterday.

It was also a dominant performance from midfield duo Sam Lonergan and Brad Helbig, who combined for 72 disposals and 24 clearances as Coburg defeated Bendigo Gold by 74 points.

The win was the Tigers’ sixth of the season, and third in the last four rounds.

Edwards achieved a seven-goal haul for the second time this season, and this time it came with 23 possessions and 14 marks.

McBean backed up his six-goal bag last week with another five, and took his season tally to 36 in 13 appearances.

Lonergan finished with 40 disposals, 16 clearances (including 13 in the first half) and two goals, to be best afield.

He was ably supported by Helbig, who played one of his best games of the season with 32 disposals, eight clearances, six tackles and a goal.

Richmond defender Dylan Grimes completed his most encouraging match since his return from injury, winning 22 possessions and taking eight marks.

Fellow defenders Jake Batchelor, Matt Dea and Ben Darrou each collected at least 20 disposals, and Todd Elton chipped in with two goals, 18 possessions and eight marks.

Coburg led by 28 points at the first change after kicking the only four goals of the term, and they were never headed, finishing the match with a 12-goal final quarter.

The Tigers face top-four side Box Hill in Round 18, at 2pm on Sunday, August 18.
