Richmond AFLW defender Rebecca Miller says the Tigers are determined to secure their first ever finals victory.

Post-match at the Swinburne Centre following Week 10 against Hawthorn, Rebecca Miller said the side was "really confident" heading into their second finals campaign.

“We’ve been to finals once before a couple years ago, and we bowed out in consecutive games, so we’re looking to win our first final, that’s probably our next growth,” Miller said.

“We’ve been battle-hardened over the last 11 games of the season. We’ll recover, and hopefully get the win for our first final (against Port Adelaide), so bring it on.”

Following her side’s 23-point loss to the Hawks, defender Beth Lynch said Richmond "played our way most of the game.”

“Our third quarters haven’t been our best, so we set ourselves to come out in the third (quarter), and I think we did that really well,” Lynch, who was celebrating her 50-game milestone, said.

“We know they’re a really good side and they were going to bring it…they got on the end of a couple more, but I think we did well all-in-all.”

Richmond AFLW Coach Ryan Ferguson shared the sentiments of Miller and Lynch.

“I thought it was a great tune-up for next week,” Ferguson said.

“I liked the pressure we kept in the game. If we had of executed a few times with our fundamentals, got going the other way, it just might’ve turned a little bit.”

“We created opportunities we didn’t take, but we adjusted really well from what we got against Essendon last week.”

Speaking on the side’s upcoming finals campaign, Ferguson stated his side would "be hard to play against for any team if we play that brand of footy.”

“I thought the players were so connected today, had great energy, and we just have to make sure we bring that in every final, and every team that we play against,” he said.
