Richmond will blood AFLW draftees Isabel Bacon and Mackenzie Ford this Sunday against GWS at the Swinburne Centre. 

Both Tiger cubs arrived at Punt Road via the 2023 AFLW Draft, taken with picks No. 13 and No. 43 respectively, and have made immediate impacts during their short time at the Club, impressing in the recent practice matches.

Bacon, 19, was unavailable for the opening round due to illness, while Ford, also 19, has recovered from a hamstring complaint in time for Sunday's clash.

Bacon, who wears guernsey No. 31, is a pacy midfielder/defender who excelled with the Sandringham Dragons in the Coates Talent League and impressed at the National Combine.

She featured for Victoria Metro last year, where she received the side’s Coaches Award at the Under 18 National Championships.

Ford, who will run out in No. 33, is an explosive medium forward drafted out of the Tasmanian Devils, also impressing when representing the Allies at the National Championships.

In her two outings for the Allies, she collected 17 disposals, two score assists and six tackles against Victoria Metro, and a put together an outstanding 15-tackle performance against Western Australia from the midfield.

Richmond will name its final Week 2 line-up on Friday afternoon at 5.00pm.
