Outgoing Richmond CEO Brendon Gale has provided insight into his successor at Tigerland, Shane Dunne.

Speaking on the Club’s Talking Tigers podcast, Gale expressed his confidence in Dunne’s ability to succeed in the key role.

“He came in working around membership and worked his way up,” Gale said.

“Ultimately, he had carriage of our Aligned Leisure business and a Richmond Institute of Sport Leadership business, which is a significant part of our business.

“It’s a complex business and he’s managed that through Covid and the lockdowns, and relationships with the local government.

“So, he’s a very capable person, and I think he’s got tremendous growth.

“I think he’ll lead the Club very well.

“Even just seeing his interview yesterday (following his appointment), you could almost see the freshness, the energy . . .

“He’s really looking forward to the challenge.

“He knows the Club and he knows what success looks like and how it’s delivered.”
