Tenacious Richmond small forward Rhyan Mansell’s impressive improvement this season was further highlighted in yesterday’s match against Hawthorn at the MCG.
Mansell was one of the Tigers’ best in their 63-point loss with 12 disposals, three marks, two goals, three inside-50s, three intercepts, three tackles and 193 metres gained.
The 24-year-old, in his 52nd game of AFL football, never stopped trying to lift the team over the course of the four quarters.
He applied plenty of pressure to the Hawk backs inside Richmond’s forward-50 area, in typical style, and again hit the scoreboard.
Mansell’s two goals took his season’s tally to 20 goals in 20 games, and he is second (behind Shai Bolton) on the Tigers’ goalkicking list for the year.
He also is ranked ninth across the competition for tackles inside 50.
