Ross played in the VFL last weekend after a long layoff due to a foot injury, hitting the ground running with 27 disposals, four marks, six inside-50s, three tackles and three clearances.

Richmond senior coach Adem Yze said it was an impressive return from the 23-year-old.

"He's so diligent and he did a power of work leading into that game on the weekend," Yze said.

"His form at VFL level was a level above, and we have missed him."

The Tigers have also recalled mid-season recruit Jacob Blight for his third AFL outing, after the 196cm key defender produced a best on ground performance in last Sunday's VFL loss to Sandringham with 32 disposals, 16 intercept possessions, 13 marks and 13 rebound-50s.

"(He) was outstanding on the day... When he was in contest, he absolutely dominated the game," VFL coach Steve Morris said of Blight.

Also recalled to Richmond's side for the clash with the Hawks is energetic small forward Matt Coulthard, 23, who last featured at AFL level in Round 10 this season.

The three inclusions replace omitted trio Thomson Dow, Samson Ryan and Kaleb Smith, who have been named as the Tigers' emergencies.

Yze said the Tigers wanted to played "more of a contest game" on Sunday compared to recent weeks, and finish the season spiritedly.

"We've been training that really hard this week," Yze said.

"We've done a heap of work on our team defence, and we want to spend more time on offence.

"Along all three phases, they're going to really test us, but it's a great challenge for us and we can't wait to get going."

The Tigers' penultimate home and away clash kicks off at 3:20pm and will be broadcast live on Channel 7 and Fox Footy.
