Scans have confirmed that ruckman Sam Naismith ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in yesterday’s VFL match at Sandringham.
Naismith, 31, joined the Club in November as a delisted free agent and broke into the AFL lineup for the Opening Round clash against Gold Coast.
He had added another two AFL matches and been in strong form at VFL level before suffering the injury.
Naismith has played 33 matches at AFL level across 10 years in the system at both Sydney and Richmond.
The injury is the fourth ruptured ACL of his career.
