Richmond coach Adem Yze has praised the Club’s captain Toby Nankervis for the work he’s done in the lead-up to Saturday night’s clash with Western Bulldogs at the MCG.
Yze revealed that the robust triple Tiger premiership ruckman had been pivotal in the planning for the match following last Sunday’s disappointing loss to Fremantle.
“We got beaten comprehensively in all three phases, so we had a good review,” Yze said in his weekly pre-game press conference.
“Our contest work and our stoppage work weren’t up to standard, irrelevant of the players we’ve got out, and our players weren’t happy with it.
“Our captain drove a lot of the training we did this week.
“It was good for our captain to sit in there and drive that discussion with the midfielders . . .
“We’ve worked on it and we’re coming up against a solid and a strong stoppage team again in the Dogs . . . A really good test for us again.”
