Richmond VFL has confirmed its maiden line-up for Round 1 against Gold Coast at People First Stadium.
After exiting their pre-season campaign with an even 2-2 record, the VFL Tigers will kick off their 2024 season against the reigning premiers on their home deck.
Nine AFL-listed players will feature against the Suns, including Hugo Ralphsmith, Judson Clarke, Sam Naismith, Jacob Koschitzke and draftee Kane McAuliffe
The Tigers have named three debutants for the opening round, Jed Feneley, Lachlan Wilson and Nick Girolami.
Defender Girolami, 21, who has excellent aerial power, competitiveness and kicking, arrived at Tigerland from Mt Eliza.
Feneley, also 21 and an athletic defender, is also in his first year at the Club after being signed from Old Xaverians.
Twenty-five-year-old Wilson is a zipper inside midfielder who was recruited from Heidelberg in the Northern Football League.
Richmond will also welcome back returning Chad Harris, who will don the Yellow and Black for the first time since 2019, and Nick Guiney, who spent the entirety of the 2023 season on the sidelines courtesy of a foot injury.
The first bounce at People First Stadium is set for 12:05pm.
All matches in the 2024 Smithy’s VFL and VFLW seasons will be live streamed free via the AFL website, AFL Live Official App and VFL App.
