Placing the Collingwood defence under constant pressure will be a key focus for Richmond in Sunday’s match at the MCG.

The solidity and efficiency of the Magpies’ backline has been a major factor in their strong start to the season, and the Tigers know they must negate this strength if they are to emerge victorious.

“The key is just to move the ball quickly.  They rely a lot on contested ball and clearances.  That’s two areas we’re pretty good at,” Richmond assistant coach Brendon Lade said on this week’s ‘Spotlight’.

“We’re really good at the inside-50s as well, so we need to get it in there quickly, put them under a bit of pressure, and hopefully we can score when we go in this week . . .

“We’re just not finishing off our work inside 50, whether it be that kick inside, or not marking the ball, or not keeping it in there.

“So, there are some things we’ve worked on this week, and hopefully we’ll fix a few of those areas.”
