There is one Richmond premiership player in particular that talented, tall Tiger draftee Callum Coleman-Jones is looking forward to meeting and forming a strong relationship with.
Coleman-Jones, a 201cm, 98kg ruckman/forward from SANFL club Sturt, taken by the Tigers with their second pick (No. 20 overall) in the 2017 AFL national draft last Friday night, can’t wait to tap into Toby Nankervis’ ruck expertise.
“Being a tall bloke, getting to know Toby Nankervis is definitely something I want to do and learn his craft,” Coleman-Jones told the ‘Adelaide Advertiser’.
“He’s (Nankervis) had a ripper year as well, so I definitely want to meet him.”
Coleman-Jones expressed great delight with his recruitment by Richmond.
“It’s pretty unreal.
“I couldn’t ask for a better team to be drafted to after they just won the premiership.
“I couldn’t be more stoked to go over to Melbourne and get started.”
Coleman-Jones captained South Australia in this year’s under-18 national championships and performed impressively, averaging 17 disposals and 19.5 hit-outs per game.
He was subsequently selected in the under-18 All-Australian team.
