Star Richmond key defender Alex Rance believes his young teammate Nick Vlastuin has the all-round game to develop into a similar type player as Geelong’s veteran champion small backman Corey Enright.
Vlastuin, in his third season of league football, has become an integral member of the Tigers’ defence.
He’s averaging just over 15 disposals per match and is combining strong defensive work with attacking flair.
The 21-year-old again was a valuable contributor for Richmond in its 30-point victory over Carlton at the MCG last Friday night, picking up his customary 15 disposals, including four rebound-50s.
“Nick Vlastuin, I’ve had a lot to do with his development and I think he could be a Corey Enright star for years to come,” Rance said on ABC radio.
“He just reads the game so well, he’s strong in the air, courageous, good kick, and I love playing with him because he just does the right thing at the right time as well.”
