2. He grew up in the South Australian coastal city of Port Augusta and played junior football at the Central Augusta club.

3. He left home at 14 years of age to board at prestigious Adelaide school Prince Alfred College, where many AFL players and Australian Test cricketers, such as the Chappell brothers, attended.

4. He won the James Gosse Medal in 2021 for his outstanding form at school-level football.
