Although Richmond was well beaten by reigning premier Hawthorn at the MCG yesterday (Sunday), defender Dylan Grimes believes there were signs the Tigers had turned the corner in terms of quicker, more decisive ball movement.
“That was a focus of ours going into the game. There were patches where we did do it,” Grimes told ‘Roar Vision’.

“It showed that we’ve improved on recent weeks, and that’s something that we’ll really try and drive going into the Geelong game (next Sunday).”
Grimes, who restricted dangerous Hawthorn forward Jack Gunston to just two goals, claimed the most frustrating aspect of the 66-point loss was that the Hawks ‘beat us in a lot of areas we pride ourselves on’.
“Our KPI’s were all red for us this week, so that was the most disappointing thing,” Grimes said.
“We didn’t play the way we wanted to play. Basically, they made us defend a lot of the time, which was very taxing on us . . .”
Grimes, however, is anticipating the Tigers will rebound strongly against a Geelong side also coming off a hefty loss in Round 6 (by 40 points to Port Adelaide).
“I’m looking forward to next week. I expect that you’ll see a pretty hard and aggressive Richmond side,” he declared.
