Three Richmond players will return from Alice Springs today in the wake of the cancellation of this evening’s match against the Indigenous All Stars.
Dustin Martin, Shane Edwards and Kelvin Moore have been in Alice Springs since Wednesday, spending time in local Aboriginal communities.
While none of them were scheduled to play in the match, they were going to stay until Saturday, but the cancellation has prompted their early return.
The rest of the Richmond playing squad is undergoing an extensive training session at Bulleen following the cancellation of this evening’s game, in preparation for the Club’s opening round of the NAB Cup pre-season competition (against Carlton and Collingwood at Etihad Stadium) on February 12.
And, the Tigers will be on the march this weekend . . .
Richmond will be holding family days for its supporters in major Victorian regional towns Geelong and Ballarat, as well as Tasmanian capital city, Hobart, this Saturday (February 5).
The Geelong Barwon Tigers Family Day will be held at White Eagle House, Fellmongers Road, Breakwater from noon onwards.
Richmond players Brett Deledio, Nathan Foley, Angus Graham, Ty Vickery, Bachar Houli and Ben Griffiths will be on hand to conduct a question and answer session, provide autographs and mingle with the local Tiger fans.
There will be a barbecue and drinks available, plus raffles, give-aways, and plenty more on offer.
The Ballarat and District Supporters’ Group Family Day will be held at Marty Busch Reserve No. 1, Albert Street, Sebastopol, from 1pm-3pm, with players Trent Cotchin, Daniel Jackson, Jayden Post, Mitch Farmer, Shaun Grigg and Luke McGuane in attendance.
Local members of the Yellow and Black faith will be treated to a football clinic, a barbecue, face painting, a giant raffle and a host of other activities.
The Hobart Supporters’ Group Family Day will take place at the North Hobart Football Oval, corner of Argyle and Ryde Streets, North Hobart, from 3pm-5pm.
Star forward Jack Riewoldt will be returning to his home state for the occasion, along with team-mates Tom Hislop, Robbie Hicks and Brad Helbig.
Local Tassie Tiger fans will be able to enjoy a football clinic, sausage sizzle, face painting, raffle and grab some Richmond team posters.
