Following a third come-from-behind win, Richmond AFLW coach Ryan Ferguson said his side demonstrated a "really professional effort" to overrun Carton on Saturday.
The Tigers went goalless in the second term at Ikon Park but motored home in the last to secure a seven-point victory.
"Very happy with the outcome there. Carlton are young, energetic and fast and playing some good footy," Ferguson said.
"We knew it was going to be a tough game and we were confident we could get there in the end, but it was always going to take the better part of four quarters.
"I thought we really controlled the third quarter, but just got so rushed and so hectic, so we got no reward for effort."
Ferguson said the result once again showed a strong resolve within the group.
"They were banged up last week (against GWS). We were running on empty but still ran the game out really strong," he said.
"We lost a couple (of players for Round 4)... but Poppy Kelly and Stella Reid came in fresh and ready to go.
"The group is full of resilience."

Key back Rebecca Miller was a late out due to a finger injury which will be further assessed on Monday.
While her presence was missed, Ferguson was pleased with the defensive unit's ability to adjust in her absence.
"We didn't want to take any risks with (Miller)," Ferguson said.
"We love her out there and she's come into some really good form as well.
"But we have a lot of confidence that Laura McClelland and Libby Graham can play that role."
