Richmond youngsters Matthew Coulthard, James Trezise, and Seth Campbell have put pen to paper on new contracts for the 2024 season, extending their stay at the Swinburne Centre.

Coulthard and Trezise joined the Club via the Mid-Season Rookie Draft in May on short-term contracts, while Campbell was Richmond's first pick, No. 12 overall at last year's Rookie Draft.

Coulthard, 22, featured four times at senior level for the Tigers, including a memorable debut as the substitute against Hawthorn in Round 19.

The energetic forward showed all the traits that saw him selected by Richmond from Glenelg, with his seven disposals at 100 percent efficiency and two inside 50s helping propel Richmond to a come-from-behind win.

Coulthard hit the scoreboard with the first goal of his career within seconds of being substituted into his second AFL game against Melbourne the following week before earning appearances in the starting 22 across the next fortnight.

Coulthard also played eight games for Richmond VFL, averaging 10.7 disposals and booting four goals.

Trezise, 22, made his AFL debut in the season's final round and was one of the Tigers' best with 17 disposals and four score involvements playing across half-back.

The debut completed a meteoric rise for the rebounding defender after he played in a premiership at Tooradin-Dalmore in the West Gippsland Football League just last year.

Trezise had played the first half of the season as a VFL player at Richmond before earning the elevation to the AFL list mid-year.

The left-footer was a brilliant performer for the VFL Tigers all season, where he has continuously improved across 18 matches, averaging 17.3 disposals and five marks.

Campbell, 18, has had an injury-interrupted first season at Richmond, featuring just five times at VFL level due to groin and leg injuries.

The forward showed promising signs in his handful of appearances, with his run and evasiveness a highlight of his game.

Richmond General Manager, Football Talent- Blair Hartley said that the mid-season pair had made strong impressions since joining the Club in May.

"Matt and James have adapted well to the demands of AFL football, and it has been exciting to see both already receive opportunities at senior level.

"These extensions are a reward for their hard work, and we look forward to seeing them back in 2024 and able to complete their first AFL pre-season, which will be greatly beneficial."

Hartley added that Campbell, the youngest player on Richmond's list, would grow from the experience of managing injury in his first year at the Club.

"Seth has missed a lot of football this year, but his attitude and commitment towards developing as an AFL player has remained strong," Hartley said.

"We think Seth's body will be well equipped for the upcoming pre-season and look forward to seeing what he can achieve in 2024 and beyond.

"Like the other two boys, Seth has thoroughly deserved his contract extension."
