The raw numbers reveal that star Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt is having a better season than many outside Tigerland might realise.

Riewoldt, who celebrated reaching the 150-game milestone with an excellent performance in last Sunday’s upset win against Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium, features prominently in several key statistical categories within the competition.

The dual Coleman Medallist is ranked No. 1 for total marks inside 50, with 72, which is eight more than any other player.

He is ranked fourth for contested marks inside 50, with 20, and ninth for total contested marks, with 26.

Riewoldt’s 44 goals have him currently in fourth place in the race for the Coleman Medal, six behind Port Adelaide’s Jay Schulz.

And, the 22 disposals Riewoldt picked up in last Sunday’s clash, were a career high for him.

Riewoldt also figures highly in another interesting competition-wide list.

The combination of Riewoldt and teammate Ty Vickery is third overall for total goals within a team from two tall, key forwards, with 65.

Only Hawthorn duo Jarryd Roughead and Jack Gunston, on 80 (40 apiece) and Port Adelaide pair Jay Schulz and Justin Westhoff, 68 between them, have scored more goals than the Tiger twosome.

Riewoldt is also third in the competition for goals and goal assists combined (with 57 – 44 goals and 13 behinds), behind Hawthorn’s Luke Bruest (42 goals, 21 goal assists) and Geelong’s Tom Hawkins (46 and 14).

And, he has amassed the equal-second most shots at goal in the competition (72 shots – 44 goals and 28 behinds), equal with Hawkins (46.26) and seven behind Sydney’s Lance Franklin (79 shots – 47.32).
