Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in last Saturday's loss to Williamstown at DSV Stadium.
Tyler Sonsie (31 disposals, 13 contested possessions, eight marks, eight clearances, five inside-50s)
"High contested possession and clearance numbers again on the weekend. He probably let himself down by foot with his ball use, but he certainly was able to win the ball for us."
Thomson Dow (24 disposals, 15 contested possessions, seven clearances, seven inside-50s)
"Looked lively in and around the footy and was really important around stoppage for us. He's really working on his transition game and we're seeing great improvement in this week to week."
Lachlan Street (20 disposals, nine inside-50s, six marks)
"Started down back and went on ball late to help provide some extra grunt around the footy. I thought he was reliable down back and had huge inside-50 numbers for us as well."
Tom Brown (18 disposals, eight rebound-50s, seven marks)
"Solid once again. His ball use is second to none in the competition, he makes really good decisions. He had some fantastic aerial contests as well on the day and continues his good form."
James Trezise (17 disposals, five marks, four tackles)
"Was once again really solid in defence. His offensive ball use wasn't up to the standard that we expect from him, but he consistently won the footy back for us on the day."
Brad Melville (17 disposals, five inside-50s, four tackles)
"Brad played across half-back mainly, as well as stints on the wing. Once again, he is one of our best ball users and was probably guilty of not taking as much care of the football as much as he should have. He provides a lot of run and rebound for us, as well as leadership."
Hugo Ralphsmith (15 disposals, seven marks, one goal)
"It was a low impact day from Hugo. He struggled to get his running game up and going, but I thought he had a real influence in the last quarter when we needed to get speed into the game and he was able to hit the scoreboard as well as pass one off."
Tom Brindley (14 disposals, six marks, two inside-50s)
"Played down back and he's still really raw in that role. We feel he will continually grow into being a key position player down back, but when we threw him into the ruck in the last quarter he had a big influence on us being able to win clearance in the middle of the ground."
Angus Hicks (13 disposals, four tackles, four inside-50s)
"He's selfless and he knows our structures inside and out, and that's really important to us. But we also expect his beautiful ball use to come to the fore, which it didn't on the weekend."
Mykelti Lefau (13 disposals, 12 tackles, five clearances)
"He was fantastic for us in the around the contest. He played as an on baller and led our team with 12 tackles. He's a real presence for us in there and his speed and power is certainly evident."
Kaelan Bradtke (12 disposals, three marks, two goals)
"A mixed game. He had four scoring shots, but we'll be putting it on him to continually bring other players into the game, as I felt there was a couple of missed opportunities."
Austin Johnson (12 disposals, seven tackles, three inside-50s)
"A low possession game, but I thought he had a real impact. His contest work was really good with seven tackles, and I thought he was one that really stood up down in defence on the day."
Mohammed Yassine (10 disposals, two marks, two clearances, one goal)
"He had another really good game. Just love the intensity that he brings and the work rate. He's playing our system really well for a young player and it speaks volumes for the improvement that we've seen in him this year."
Mutaz El Nour (nine disposals, six marks, four rebound-50s)
"His game was at both ends of the spectrum. I thought his good was outstanding, however, he did make a few poor decisions on defence which we'll tidy up during the week. He's a really important player to us."
Samson Ryan (six disposals, 18 hit-outs, three clearances, two goals)
"Would have loved for Samson to have a little bit more impact on the game. He looked dangerous in the air but really didn't tear the game apart when I thought it was there for him to do so. But, he had some exciting moments."
Judson Clarke (six disposals, three inside-50s, one clearance)
"He looked really lively early on in the game, and unfortunately suffered a shoulder injury early in the second quarter. A big loss for us and we wish him a speedy recovery."
Seth Campbell (six disposals, four tackles, one mark)
"He also looked lively. He is very raw to our system but is showing genuine promise. He definitely should have kicked one or two goals, and he was on managed minutes once again. His tackle pressure was also a highlight."
Steely Green (six disposals, three marks, one goal)
"Struggled to have the impact that we would have liked, but he was hitting the scoreboard and continued to put pressure on. He had some outstanding defensive efforts."
Harry Broderick (six disposals, two marks, one clearance)
"A young player playing down back, who I thought stood up in some critical contests. His ball use was really good."
Bigoa Nyuon (five disposals, two marks, one clearance)
"We all know what he's capable of and what he has shown, tearing games apart up forward, and we're looking forward to seeing him launch at the footy like we know he can next week."
Misilifi Faimalo (five disposals, two marks, two inside-50s)
"He tried his backside off, but it was a tough day for our small forwards. His defensive pressure was there, but he probably was utilised enough on offence."
Will Bravo (four disposals two clearances, one inside-50)
"Attacked the contest with vigour in the first half in and around the footy, but unfortunately copped a bad head knock in a tackle just after half-time and that was his day done."
Ben Miller (three disposals, one clearance)
"Made a really promising start, but unfortunately copped a heavy knock in a collision in a marking contest and that was his day done early in the second quarter."
