Exciting Richmond small forward Daniel Rioli has recommitted to the Club, signing a two-year contract extension.
 
The 20-year-old will remain at Tigerland until at least the end of the 2019 season.
 
Rioli was drafted to Richmond with its first selection, pick No. 15 overall, at the 2015 AFL National Draft.
 
He was quick to make an impact and made his AFL debut in Round 1, 2016.
 
Rioli has played 32 senior matches, booted 26 goals and received an AFL Rising Star nomination in Round 22 of his first season.
 
“I’m really excited to remain at Richmond for at least another two years,” Rioli said.
 
“I have loved this football club from day one and it was an easy decision to re-sign.”
 
Daniel continues the Rioli legacy at Richmond.
 
His great uncle, Maurice Rioli, was a champion footballer with Richmond in the 1980s, when he won two Jack Dyer Medals, and a Norm Smith Medal in 1982.
 
He is also the cousin of Hawthorn star and Norm Smith medallist Cyril Rioli.
 
Richmond’s general manager of football talent, Dan Richardson, said Rioli was a much-loved person at the Club.  
 
“Daniel is an exciting, young player and he has a very bright future ahead of him,” Richardson said.
 
“Daniel is clearly a talented footballer, but he also brings much more to our football club.
 
“He is passionate about sharing his culture and educating his teammates, as well as the broader football community.”
 
During Richmond’s recent bye week, Rioli took a small group of players and coaches to his home on the Tiwi Islands.
