Richmond Football Club has officially crashed through the 50,000 membership barrier for the first time in its history.
The Club’s previous membership record was 47,625, set in 2011.
“This Club has always had a strong, loyal and passionate supporter base. The coaching staff and players continually refer to the tremendous support they receive from our fans, and the lift it gives them on match day,” Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said.
Richmond 3-game memberships are still available for season 2012. Click here for more details.
“This membership number is a reflection of that support, and it is an absolute credit to every one of our supporters who has become a member. We have set ourselves an ambitious target of 75,000 by 2014, and this is a significant step forward as we strive to reach that number.
“To sign 50,000 members for the first time gives everyone working at the Club an enormous boost. To know we have a fan base that provides us with such sensational support drives us all to deliver them the best experience we can, on and off the field.
“It is important to also point out that over the past two years this support has gone beyond membership. The support of the Fighting Tiger Fund has been amazing.
“We are just $500,000 short of our $6 million target and this, combined with our membership number, gives us a real sense that we are a united football club, with a shared vision, committed to success.
“We still have much to achieve, but it is important we celebrate and recognise important milestones such as these along the way.”
