Richmond has recalled the services of ruckman Ivan Soldo for its trip to face West Coast on Sunday at Optus Stadium.

The 27-year-old comes into the Tigers' line-up in place of suspended co-captain Toby Nankervis.

Soldo, who'll return for his second AFL appearance of the season, had 32 hit-outs in the VFL last weekend in what was his third game back from an injury layoff.

"(His form) is improving. When you miss a lot of football like Soldo has, it takes a little bit of time to get your touch back," Richmond interim coach Andrew McQualter said on Thursday.

"He's certainly in great physical condition - he's a big dude - and with three weeks of footy hopefully he's been able to improve his touch."

In addition to Nankervis, also coming out of the side is Jacob Bauer, who suffered a hamstring injury in his debut game last week.

Jack Ross, Richmond's activated substitute from the Round 17 win over Sydney, has been named in the starting 22 after an impressive outing.

Richmond's four emergencies for the Eagles clash are Hugo Ralphsmith, Rhyan Mansell, Samson Ryan and Judson Clarke. 

The Tigers will confirm which player steps into the 23 to be the substitute 60 minutes before the opening bounce.

Sunday's match kicks off at 4.40pm AEST (2.40pm AWST) and will be broadcast live on Fox Footy and Kayo Sports.
