Richmond AFLW has started the pre-season refreshed and excited for what lies ahead.
Now almost one month into the official pre-season, the Tigers have enjoyed a variety of training sessions in an assortment of locations to keep things fresh.
After undergoing sessions in just the past week at Collingwood Athletics Track, Dominance MMA Gym and MSAC, as well as a gymnastics session, new High Performance Manager Eliza Morrison said the diversity of training gave the group a "different stimulus to train in."
"The more details and purpose you can give them, the better. If they go into a session knowing what we want out of the session, then we just find their buy in and their understanding of it is really good," Morrison, who has been a part of Richmond's AFLW program since 2022, said.
"We've had the opportunity on Tuesday mornings to train at MSAC, we do a gym session there along with some court skills.
"Looking at this pre-season verses last pre-season... We have extra three weeks this pre-season, so we've taken it as a chance to be a little bit more aerobic in our training.
"We're also giving them a lot of match sim, getting them into skills, and also some repeat efforts of running as well."
The team's six-minute run test on the weekend yielded some impressive results, led by dashing half-back Eilish Sheerin.
"(The run) was great. We did it for the first time on an athletics track, so there were some quite good personal bests which was nice," Morrison said.
"Some fantastic results... Eilish Sheerin just ran solid the whole day and I think having someone at the front just lifts the group like that.
"We had some really good improvements. In pre pre-season we were able to do some testing with the girls, so Molly Eastman was another one improved her (six-minute run) distance by over 200 metres.
"She's just hit the ground running consistency-wise, as too has Bec Miller and Libby Graham."

Morrison also provided an update on the injury front.
"Because we had that consistency over the break, it means there hasn't been too many detrimental injuries. The mains ones are Emelia Yassir and Tessa Lavey," she said.
"'Millzy' had her first run back (this week) from a hip injury. Tessa's had a couple of setbacks but we're hoping in the next couple of weeks that we know a bit more about the severity of her (toe) injury and how she's tracking."
After 14 months of ACL rehab for Richmond's first selection in the 2022 AFL Draft, Charley Ryan, the 19-year-old will make her return through the VFLW this weekend for Port Melbourne.
The Tigers will embark on their pre-season camp at the start of July, in what's always a vital bonding opportunity for the group.
"We do the camp based on a really good football training session and that will be a fantastic opportunity to get a good training session in, but to also be outdoors and just bond together as a team," Morrison said.
"Not only for the players but because we've had a few new coaches in Adam Marcon and Shaun Hampson, and some new staff members as well.
"We had a great buy in from the team during the pre pre-season and I think that's put us in good stead for the pre-season.
"At the moment, it feels like after every session, you just can't wait for the next one. The group's really well-connected which is great."
