Richmond will appeal the verdict handed down to Rhyan Mansell at Tuesday night's AFL Tribunal.
Richmond will contest Mansell's rough conduct charge following contact made with Fremantle's James Aish, which was graded as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.
Mansell pleaded not guilty at the Tribunal last night, stating he thought he could win the football and if he kept running straight on, he would have opened both himself and Aish up for injury.
The Tribunal concluded that Mansell was in the act of bumping Aish and suspended him for three matches.
The Appeal Board Hearing for Mansell will take place from 9.30am AEST on Friday, June 16.
