Jack Ross has taken an impressive step in his football development at Richmond this season.
The 22-year-old, taken by the Tigers with their second pick (No. 43 overall) in the 2018 national draft, is playing the best football of his AFL career in his wing role.
He is averaging a career-high 17.6 disposals, career-high 5.2 marks, career-high 2.0 rebound-50s and career-high 310.0 metres gained per match.
Ross, who made his AFL debut with Richmond in 2019, made seven senior appearances that season, followed by seven more in 2020, 15 in 2021 and another 15 last year.
He’s poised to go beyond that this season with nine senior games so far.
Ross was a valuable contributor for the Tigers in their Round 13 win against Fremantle at Optus Stadium last Saturday night with 19 disposals, seven contested possessions, four marks, one goal and 254 metres gained, plus a brilliant “blind turn” that underlined his growing confidence at the game’s highest level.
