Tim Taranto continues to go from strength to strength in his debut season at Richmond.
The star midfielder has moved into equal 12th place in the AFL Coaches Association’s Champion Player of the Year award following a dynamic display against Port Adelaide at the MCG last Sunday.
Taranto polled a perfect 10 votes after finishing the Round 11 contest with a game-high 33 disposals, 12 contested possessions, six marks, seven clearances, a game-high three centre clearances, four inside-50s, four rebound-50s, four goals, eight score involvements, seven tackles and 422 metres gained.
He has picked up 22 coaches’ votes since Round 8 for an overall total of 38 votes in the prestigious award.
The only other Tiger player to feature in the voting for the Round 11 match against the Power was Shai Bolton, who received one vote for his lively display – 23 disposals, five marks, five inside-50s, three clearances, four intercepts, one goal, a game-high nine score involvements, four tackles and 585 metres gained.
