On Saturday 23 August, Richmond Football Club will be helping Very Special Kids with a warm up fundraiser for the 2008 Piggy Bank Appeal.

Richmond is a long-standing supporter of Very Special Kids through the club’s Tigers in the Community Foundation.

Very Special Kids provides much needed assistance to families who are caring for children with life-threatening illnesses.

When a child is diagnosed with such a condition, it turns their family’s world upside down.

Very Special Kids provides respite and end-of-life care for very sick children, as well as counseling, bereavement and other support services for their parents and siblings.

The Piggy Bank Appeal is the biggest annual fundraiser for Very Special Kids, which aims to raise more than $1 million to support Victorian families.

“It costs $4 million to provide services for the more than 800 families across Victoria who depend upon us,” said Very Special Kids CEO, David Agnew.

We need Victoria’s help to raise more than $1 million during this year’s Appeal to meet the growing demand for our services. When you see one of our giant piggy banks around town, I urge you to please give generously.”

Very Special Kids volunteers will be collecting donations for the Piggy Bank Appeal at the gates of the MCG before the Richmond v Fremantle match on Saturday 23 August.

If you see a volunteer on the day, we encourage you to dig deep for the Piggy Bank Appeal.
