Richmond co-captain Dylan Grimes has praised the efforts of the group of Tiger cubs in yesterday’s clash with Western Bulldogs at the MCG, highlighting one especially.
“It’s great seeing some really young faces running around, “Grimes told Richmond Media in a post-match interview.
“I thought our young guys were really quite terrific. Gave us a lot of drive, particularly in that second quarter today.
“I’ve been playing with Tylar Young over the last few weeks, and he’s just gone from strength to strength, really, since we picked him up in the off-season.
“He’s playing against some really quality forwards and getting the job done.”
Young, in just his third game of AFL football, had 11 disposals, five rebound-50s, four intercepts, three score involvements and a game-high 15 one-percenters.
The Tigers’ team for the Round 4 match against the Bulldogs contained five players with 10 games or less of AFL experience (Young, Noah Cumberland, Judson Clarke, Tyler Sonsie, Samson Ryan) and seven with 20 games or less (Young, Cumberland, Clarke, Sonsie, Ryan, Hugo Ralphsmith, Rhyan Mansell).
