Dual Richmond premiership hero Josh Caddy has expressed delight with top Tiger mature-age midfield recruit Jacob Hopper taking over his No. 22 guernsey.

Caddy, who wore No. 22 in 79 games for Richmond from 2017-22, including the 2017 and 2019 Grand Final triumphs, presented Hopper with his guernsey in the team’s MCG dressing-room before last Thursday night’s blockbuster season-opener against Carlton.

“I was pretty pumped when I heard that Jacob was going to be wearing 22,” Caddy said at the presentation.

Triple Richmond premiership star Bachar Houli presented the No. 14 Yellow and Black guernsey he wore with such distinction throughout 206 games from 2011-2021 to the Tigers’ other gun midfield recruit, Tim Taranto.
