Tim Taranto has already had a significant impact in his short time at Richmond.
The gun midfielder, who joined the Tigers from Greater Western Sydney during last year’s trade period, was the team’s best performer overall in the two pre-season practice matches against North Melbourne and Melbourne.
Taranto’s statistics in last Saturday’s clash with the Demons highlighted the influence he exerted throughout the four quarters – 33 disposals, 12 contested possessions, eight marks, five clearances, seven inside-50s, one goal, 13 score involvements and 551 metres gained.
Richmond supporters, coaches and players alike have been delighted with what they’ve seen so far from Taranto.
“He’s been a star for however long he’s been in the competition,” Tiger teammate Liam Baker told Richmond Media in a post-match interview last Saturday.
“He’s a big boy, he fights tackles, he gets his hands on the ball, and he works hard forward and back, which is what we love.
“So, he’s in for a big year, and we’re very lucky to have him.”
