Richmond coach Damien Hardwick has confirmed that the Tigers’ talented recruit Chris Yarran will have a delayed start to the season proper.
Yarran, who was picked up by Richmond in a trade with Carlton last October, is down on fitness after battling a troublesome calf injury during the pre-season.

It means he will miss the season-opener against his former club on March 24, and it could be several weeks after that before he makes his senior debut for the Tigers.
Richmond, however, is undeterred by Yarran’s setback.
“He's had a couple of calf injuries and has been limited in his preparation,” Hardwick said.
“It's going to take a little bit of time.
“We're very excited about what he's going to bring. But it's not going to be in the short-term.
“We probably look forward to him in the second third of the year.
“There's a lot of football to be played in season 2016 . . . He's not going to be ready for the start, but he'll be there when the whips are cracking.”
