Richmond AFLW duo Monique Conti and Ellie McKenzie have been recognised for their sensational 2022 home and away seasons with selection in the AFL Players' Association's AFLW 22Under22 side.
The two young guns were chosen in the extended squad of 44 earlier this month, before fans had their say on the best young talent in the competition to narrow down the final 22.
Named in the centre line of the team, it's a record-breaking fourth selection for Conti, who has now been named in each 22Under22 side since its inception.
The 22-year-old star midfielder was named captain of the side for the second season straight after featuring in 91.11% of fan-voted teams.
The decorated youngster received a perfect score of 10 from the coaches on four occasions and topped the votes six times, averaging 21.7 disposals, 6.2 tackles and 3.7 inside-50s across her 10 home and away outings.
McKenzie, 20, positioned on the half-forward flank, has made the team for the second time after also being selected back in 2021.
After her previous season was interrupted due to a calf injury, the former No. 1 draft pick was back to her best in Season Seven, averaging 15 disposals and 3.5 tackles per game in her second full season.
The future is looking bright for the Tiger duo, who were also named in the 2022 Season Seven All Australian squad.
22Under22 is a fan-voted concept that recognises the best 22 players aged 22 and under for the entirety of the AFLW season. For a player to be eligible, they are required to have played 50 per cent of season games, equating to five matches.
