Richmond AFLW coach Ryan Ferguson says the Tigers have proven their depth in their recent wins without key personnel.

The group stood up on Friday night against West Coast in the absence of seven key players who combined for a total of 213 games of experience, including skipper Katie Brennan, vice-captain Sarah Hosking and leadership group member Bec Miller.

"We trust that we have depth in our list that can come in and play a role on any given day," Ferguson said.

"We trust our system, we trust our connection, and that does give you a sense of calm going into a game.

"(We know what we) need to do, which will hopefully keep us in every game."

The Tigers needed a lift in the final quarter and Grace Egan provided just that, with Ferguson labelling the team's response in the dying minutes as "outstanding".

"I thought we controlled the game completely from that moment," he said.

"Every week that growth in situational awareness is really impressive and we've been working on it for so long."

Ferguson said the group was leaving Perth "very happy" after recording their fifth win on the trot.

"The game panned out the way we thought it might. They challenged us at times...we respect all of our oppositions so we were well-versed in what we were coming up against, and I thought we executed pretty well," he said.

"Five in a row is a really good effort, we lost a couple of tough ones early, but to stay in the moment with that mindset of trusting our game and our work-rate and growing it and being present in the moment, that's going to bring you good things."

The Tigers are taking the season week-by-week, and growing in confidence with each win.

"They're becoming more and more mature and they're a group that seems to embrace a challenge," Ferguson said.

"They do like to grow and they take things head on...They have a sense of calm and trust in what we do."

Brennan is expected to return this Friday night against Carlton after being managed on the weekend.

"Part of her management plan is that she was going to miss this game," Ferguson said.

"Obviously, we need to make sure we look after her and that she's right to play. I'll be hoping that she'll play next week and then we'll see whether she can back up again or not."
