Dion Prestia convincingly produced the best Brownlow Medal performance of his 12-year AFL career in 2022.

The star Richmond triple premiership midfielder polled 19 votes in last night’s Brownlow count – six more than his previous best result in the game’s most prestigious individual award, which was 13 while playing for Gold Coast in 2014.

His most Brownlow votes with Richmond before last night, was eight in 2019, when he won the Jack Dyer Medal.

What made Prestia’s 2022 Brownlow effort even more meritorious was the fact he missed four games through injury and was subbed out early in three other matches – Round 1 v Carlton (hamstring), Round 7 v West Coast (achilles) and Round 15 v Geelong (concussion).

Here’s how Prestia polled in the 2022 Brownlow Medal count . . .
