The Coburg Tigers suffered a 60-point defeat at the hands of North Ballarat at Eureka Stadium in Ballarat yesterday - 17.11 (113) to 6.17 (53).
North Ballarat set up its convincing victory with a six goal to one opening term and, although Coburg narrowly won the second quarter, it was no match for the reigning VFL premier after half-time.
Richmond-listed players Tom Hislop, Jeromey Webberley and David Gourdis were among Coburg’s best, with captain Nick Carnell, again the team’s leading goalkicker, booting three.
Coburg’s reserves recorded a 24-point win against North Ballarat, with highly-rated Richmond ‘tall’, Ben Griffiths, taking another step on his comeback trail, following a shoulder reconstruction, kicking two goals and being named as one of the team’s best.
Mitch Farmer did not take his place in the Coburg line-up, as he was on standby as an emergency for the Richmond side.
