Richmond has used its final selection in the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft, pick no. 60, to select Hawthorn VFLW utility Katelyn Cox.
The quick small defender, was added to North Melbourne's AFLW list as a forward/midfielder in 2021 as a replacement player, but unfortunately didn't play due to a quad injury.
She then moved to Hawthorn VFLW for a fresh opportunity and has flourished in a new role as an attacking small defender.
Richmond AFLW Recruiting Manager Trent Moseby said the Tigers saw Cox playing in the Yellow and Black at both ends of the ground.
"Katelyn has explosive speed, a neat kick and displays a high level of football IQ. She works hard both ways and is clean with her ground balls," Moseby said.
"She has played at multiple clubs with players on our list, including the Hosking twins at Seaford VFLW and Carlton VFLW (where she was Vice Captain), Meg MacDonald at Seaford VFLW, and North Melbourne VFLW/AFLW with Meagan Kiely and Beth Lynch.
"She is highly determined and motivated for an AFLW career, having overcome multiple challenges."
