After a year of “learning the ropes” at Tigerland, young Tiger Callum Coleman-Jones is ready to take the next step in 2019.
The second-year tall forward/ruck, who stands at 200cm, was dubbed as one of the most improved Tigers last year.
His diligence in his opening year impressed, alongside his knack to hold out opposition and his marking development.

With his first year now ticked off, Coleman-Jones is accustomed to the Richmond way and poised to make his mark as he pursues a debut senior game.
“I’ve loved this pre-season I feel like I have a much more comfortable understanding of the game plan, I’m loving training and I’m feeling fresh out there,” Coleman-Jones said.
“Last year, I started first-year pre-season in rehab for the first month-and-a-half, and I was just learning the ropes of it all…it took me a little while to grasp things and learn the game plan.
“I know what to expect a little more, having my first year done.”
Guided by seasoned ruckmen Ivan Maric and Toby Nankervis, Coleman-Jones has been putting his height and talent to good use as he refines his ruck craft.
“It’s coming along well…it’s a growing part of my game that I want to continue to get better at and obviously there are new rules as well which change things… I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
“My off-season program was to continue to strengthen my base and getting core base strength, and a lot of footwork, which assimilates into the ruck craft as well.”
The Tigers head home from the Gold Coast on Friday following a successful and enjoyable pre-season camp.
