Matt White’s clutch finish against Fremantle in Round 5 has been voted the sixth best goal of the year by Richmond fans.
It was deep into the last quarter of the match at Subiaco Oval, with the game in the balance, when White pounced on the loose ball 50 metres out from goal.
He sprinted away from his Dockers opponent, and, at full speed, slotted a goal from an acute angle with the outside of his right boot to put the Tigers five points ahead with just two minutes left on the clock.
Unfortunately, however, Richmond conceded a late goal and fell one-point short of causing an upset.
The number five goal of the year, as voted by Richmond fans, will be revealed on Monday, September 23.
