As good as young dynamo Dustin Martin was for Richmond in last Saturday’s victory over Port Adelaide in the pre-season series match at Albury, Tigers coach Damien Hardwick is convinced he can only get better.
Martin was a dominant force in the midfield, bursting through packs, fending off opponents in trademark ‘don’t argue’ style, and finishing with 27 disposals in Richmond’s 66-point win.
“I thought he was really good,” Hardwick said.

“I think he had 11 contested ball and seven clearances. It's something we were looking for him to improve in his game and we were pretty pleased with what he did today.
“The consistency of his output was probably a little bit scratchy early, but got better as the game went on, which was always going to happen.
“He's got a way to go but we're pleased with the results so far.”
