The revelation that veteran Richmond recruit Robbie Tarrant played only 11 times at the MCG throughout his 174-game career with North Melbourne prompted me to check the most appearances by current-day Tigers on the hallowed turf of the ‘G’.
Not surprisingly, Jack Riewoldt, who this year became just the fourth player in Richmond’s overall history to reach the coveted 300-game milestone, heads the list.
Riewoldt has played a total of 169 games at the MCG. That puts him seven ahead of Shane Edwards on 162, followed by Trent Cotchin, 146 and Dustin Martin, 144.
Richmond ‘Immortal’ Kevin Bartlett holds the Club’s record for the most games played at the MCG with 200.
Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury is the all-time MCG games record-holder with 208.
Here is the top-10 list of games played at the MCG by today’s Tigers . . .
1 – Jack Riewoldt: 169
2 – Shane Edwards: 162
3 – Trent Cotchin: 146
