AFLW Tiger Akec Makur Chuot is proud of her club for its commitment to action on the impact of climate change.
Richmond announced its Richmond Green initiative last Wednesday. As part of its commitment, the Club has established an internal working group, is the only AFL Club to become a signatory to the United Nations Sports for Climate Action Initiative, and is a member of the Sports Environment Alliance.
Speaking on Triple J's 'Hack' program last Friday, Makur Chuot stressed how vital it was for the industry to take steps towards creating change and building awareness.
"For a football club to do that, it's showing how important this is," she said.
"This is people's lives we're talking about, that the environmental impacts.
"So, the fact that a football club, which is a massive part of the environment and people's livelihoods, is taking that initiative, is really what leadership is.
As a Club, we are committed to action on the impact of climate change.
