Richmond Football Club have informed players Derek Eggmolesse-Smith and Ryan Garthwaite they will not be offered contracts for the 2022 season.
Garthwaite played 14 senior games for the Tigers across five seasons after being selected in the fourth round (No. 72 overall) of the 2016 AFL National Draft.
The 192cm defender, who was also trialed forward at reserve level this season, made five AFL appearances in 2021.
Eggmolesse-Smith played nine games for Richmond, including one this year after being selected as a Next Generation Academy selection in the 2018 Rookie Draft.
The defender spent four years on the Richmond list.
Richmond General Manager- Football Talent, Blair Hartley thanked both players for their contributions to the Club.
“We thank Ryan for his continued effort and application across five years at Richmond,” he said.
“Derek likewise worked really hard throughout his four years with us, since initially being selected as our first ever NGA prospect.
“They both played a role in our recent success, and we wish them well for the future.”
Richmond has also delisted yet-to-debut pair Noah Cumberland and Bigoa Nyuon, with the promise of re-selecting them in November’s rookie draft.
Cumberland (knee) and Nyuon (shoulder) both missed their entire debut seasons in 2020 but featured in the VFL this season.
The NAB AFL National Draft will be held on November 24-25, with the Rookie Draft set to take place on November 26.
