Richmond midfielder Dustin Martin will face the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night to contest his two-match sanction for striking GWS’s Adam Kennedy in last Saturday’s loss.
Martin was offered the two-match ban by the AFL's Match Review Officer on Monday, with the off-the-ball incident graded by the Officer as intentional conduct, with medium impact to the head and high contact.
The AFL Tribunal will sit at 5.00pm AEDT, Tuesday April 9.
Charges laid:
Dustin Martin, Richmond, has been charged with Striking Adam Kennedy, GWS GIANTS during the second quarter of the Round Three match between the GWS GIANTS and Richmond, played at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday April 6.
Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Intentional Conduct with Medium Impact and High Contact. The incident was classified as a two-match sanction.
Martin has also accepted a $1500 sanction for Striking GWS's Matt De Boer during the third quarter.
